Atlanta, GA (May 5, 2025) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a sedan on Monday afternoon along Moreland Avenue in southeast Atlanta, according to local authorities.
The crash occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m. near the intersection of Moreland Avenue and Memorial Drive. Preliminary reports from Atlanta Police indicate that a gray Honda Accord was attempting to make a left turn when it collided with an oncoming motorcycle traveling northbound on Moreland Avenue.
The motorcycle rider, a 29-year-old man, was ejected from the bike and sustained serious injuries, including multiple fractures. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported him to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition. The driver of the Honda was not injured and remained on the scene to cooperate with authorities.
An investigation is underway, and police are reviewing traffic camera footage and taking witness statements. No citations have been issued at this time, but officials have stated that failure to yield may have been a contributing factor.
Traffic along Moreland Avenue was reduced to one lane in each direction for nearly an hour while emergency crews cleared the debris and conducted the preliminary investigation.
