Atlanta, GA (May 9, 2025) – A vehicle breakdown on I-20 Westbound near Panola Road (Exit 71) contributed to a crash early Friday morning, causing significant concerns during the start of Atlanta’s morning commute.
The stalled vehicle, which reportedly had no hazard lights or visible warnings, may have been in an accident just before 5:00 a.m. The Atlanta Police Department and Georgia DOT crews quickly responded and were able to clear the disabled vehicle shortly after. There are no additional updates at this time if a second vehicle was involved.
The vehicle temporarily closed the right lane and caused traffic delays along the East Freeway as the scene was secured.
